Portfolios

In my technology class today we had to start presenting are finals, that were set up in a porfolio form. In everyones portoflio we had to use our websites to introduce the 5 standards for the
National Educational Technology Standards and give a example for each standard. Through out this semester in our technology class we learned many different things that fall in these 5 different teaching standards. Some of the things we learned were webquest, gradebooks, timelines, and podcasts that were all very educational to the teaching field. By learning and teaching these 5 standards as our final will help us to be better prepared for job interviews and also teaching a class.

Podcasts

In class this last week we learned in my technology class, how to make podcasts or making movies. This lesson in class was very beneficial in many different ways. This type of technology can be used in many different types of form to teach a class. It can also be used outside of school in making personal videos for other topics. In my podcast for this day I made a video on my family that included a pictures, music, and a video. This can be used in the classroom to let the children introduce to the class their family tree or about their families culture. This could lead to many different types of educational tools that can be used to teach a class.

Videos & Pictures

In my technology class this past week we learned many neat things. We learned how to start making videos, taking pictures by the computer, and also editing pictures. This type of technology is very benefical for my education to become a teacher. By learning how to do these neat things it will help my teaching strategies to become more successful. I believe that every child loves to work on the computer and also to watch videos so by learning how to due these things will help me to keep my students attention. I really learned alot in thid past week on putting technology into my classroom, when I become a teacher.

Learning Technology

This week in our technology class we discussed several different things. Starting off we took a quiz over technology in school systems and the ratio's on students use with technology. Then we learned how to use technology by making a lesson plan to teach to your students, so by using technology it will help make your job easier to teach a lesson to your students. Last we discussed the different things that makes up a computer, such as the monitor and keyboard. By learning these types of things it makes it more easier to get your work done on the computer or other things. Technology is a wonderful thing and by learning how it works helps make life a little more easier and less stressful. So help yourself by getting a little more acquainted with the technology.

Introduction

Hey! My name is Brandy Colley. I'm 21 years old and I have a four year old son Garrett. This is my first year at Morehead State University after transferring from Ashland Community and Technical College. My goal is to complete a degree in Elementary Education at Morehead State University. At school I'm taking a class on learning about technology. This class will be very beneficial to my to goal at becoming a elementary school teacher. Technology is a very widespread topic, but at the same time very interesting to learn about or hear about. Everyday on TV you are exposed to some type of technology whether it's new or something being updated. This is a very useful topic and will be a wonderful thing for students of any age to learn about and to experience. So wish me luck in becoming a teacher to help children to learn more about technology.
